About Us

Paddles Brewing started trading in September 2022, previously known as Brew By U Hunter since 2010.

We brew small batch beer, with over 120 recipes on offer to suit every taste. Our beer is made on site by our brewing team, fermented in our temperature-controlled environment then chilled, filtered and gassed in our cool room.  No preservatives, no additives, just freshly made commercial grade beer.

Les was an accountant, who then ran a software company before labouring for a year or so who decided to buy a brewery.  In short, when he decides to do something, it’s all or nothing, and now it’s a brewery.  Les has plans for the place, building on the successful Brew on Premises business, next step is a brew pub and launching a Paddles range of beers.  He is the ‘les’ in Paddles.

Paddy has been a chippie for 35 years, and dabbles in landscaping and generally anything he can.  A soccer mate of Les, Paddy played pretty much anywhere a man was missing, a true wing man.  When Les said “let’s buy a brewery?” Paddy’s response was “why not!” Paddy is the ‘Pad’ in Paddles.

Dave has been brewing for 14 years in Cardiff and loves what he does, who would not enjoy making beer!  He is an absolute machine, making 6 brews most days and has made up to 12!  He is a true professional and his knowledge of the beer making process is second to none. If you like talking about beer, he is your man. Dave is the middle ‘d’ in ‘Paddles’; he’s the centre of everything we do - MAKE BEER.
